About Root + Rise

Hi, I'm Shannon.

OTD, OTR/L· Founder & OT

I'm an occupational therapist with diverse experience spanning early intervention, school-based practice, pediatric feeding, and adult home health care. Across all of it, one thread holds steady: I've worked alongside children, families, educators, and caregivers to support meaningful participation in everyday life.

My approach centers on collaboration, strengths-based problem solving, and the belief that every person deserves opportunities to participate in the activities that matter most to them. I don't arrive with a one-size-fits-all program — I arrive ready to listen, observe, and build something that fits your family.

Meaningful participation doesn't happen by accident. It grows from a strong foundation.

That's the heart of Root + Rise: we tend the roots — regulation, sensory-motor foundations, and skills — so children and families can rise into autonomy, confidence, and growth.

What guides the work

Three things you can count on.

01

Collaboration

You know your family best. We work side by side — therapist, parent, child, and caregiver — to find what truly fits your life.

02

Strengths-based

We start with what's already working. Every plan is built on your family's existing strengths, routines, and goals.

03

Participation

The goal isn't perfection — it's participation. Everyone deserves to take part in the activities that matter most to them.
